The green-eyed, 5'8" actress started her career in modeling, then made her jump into the Bollywood industry. She modeled for PepsiCo, Titan Watch and Nokia among other companies. Her first film was Paap directed by Pooja Bhatt. Her next film Zeher, which also starred Emraan Hashmi and Shamita Shetty, was her breakthrough role and she became a well known face in the industry. Her role was that of a femme fatale. The film was controversial as it included some controversial scenes. She also acted in the movie Aksar, opposite Dino Morea and Emraan Hashmi. Ru Ba Ru promises to be a simple love story directed by Arjun Bali starring Randeep Hooda and Shahana Goswami. Randeep Hooda last made an impact in D (2005) in a role of a gangster he excelled. How well does he carry the role of a love boy? Also, the chemistry between the lead pair is so vital in a romantic movie. Shahana Goswami of the recent Rock On fame is Randeep Hooda leading lady.Ru-Ba-Ru is a modern day story of two ambitious individuals finding their destiny through the greatest human manifestation love, but of course with a twist! The film revolves around a modern couple Tara (Shahana Goswami) and Nikhil (Randeep Hooda) who are in love; Tara wants to cement the relationship by seeking commitment in marriage. But Nikhil, a workaholic, is always pre-occupied with his clients and work and he is happy with the way things are between the two of them. The trouble in paradise starts off with Nikhil constantly forgetting small little things that make a relationship work. He starts taking his girlfriend, her family and friends for granted. And the day comes when Tara cannot take it anymore. As she decides to take matters in her own hand, a strange magical, mystical force intervenes, and the drama unfolds!Yet another Bollywood film that is heavily inspired by an English movie. The makers of Ru Ba Ru are clearly inspired by If Only (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Vanilla Sky (Tom Cruise). It is unfortunate that Bollywood lacks good original writers.Anyway, if you're married or in a relationship for quite some time now, you could give Ru Ba Ru a try. The director has skillfully managed to show how some long terms relationships lack love, as other priorities in life have now taken over. The message the movie puts forward is live life for today, not for tomorrow! But if you expect Ru Ba Ru to be a love story devoid of typical Bollywood masala, you will be sorely disappointed as it suffers mainly due to the over the top and unrealistic masala scenes. The action begins only after the accident, nothing much happens in the first half. The post interval portions are good with Nikhil's (Randeep Hooda's character) desperation convincingly shown. The music is average. None of the songs stands out.Shahana Goswani who made her debut in Rock On... continues to rock! Her performance itself makes Ru Ba Ru worth a watch in theatre. She is a very talented actress and should have a promising future with the right roles. Randeep Hooda is good, but his body language and looks are better suited for darker roles. Jayant Kriplani is good. Rati Agnihotri is wasted. To sum up, Ru Ba Ru works to a certain extent if you walk in with zero expectations. A few unnecessary scenes ruin what could have been a much better watch.
Udita Goswami had a good beginning with Pooja Bhatt directed PAAP where she had John Abraham for company. The film got her decent critical response and Bollywood was blessed with a new-age young woman.
However, Udita chose to play it slow and between 2004 till date, she has appeared in only four films as leading lady - PAAP, ZEHER, AKSAR and AGGAR. Except for AGGAR, each of her three films worked at different levels but Udita was still not seen on a signing spree.
“Well, I had a certain thought process around signing only those films which had me in a central role. However, this didn’t quite work because how many women-centric films are actually made today? Guess, I had to have a change in mindset and thankfully now I have revisited my priorities. Yes, I have become flexible in my choice of roles but am still particular about the banners I sign and people I work with.”
Is this the reason why she suddenly finds herself as a part of two Sunny Deol projects?
“Yes, I am working in FOX and THE MAN - both of which are action films with Sunny Deol in the lead. Both films give me a chance to do something that I haven’t done before. In one of the films I get to play a spy and have an intelligent look to me. I wear business suits along with specs and the role requires me to go much beyond just performing stunts”, reveals Udita.
“In another film I have a glamorous part to enact as I play the role of a publishing house owner”, informs Udita, “So you see I am required to carry off different personas and I am happy with the way my new innings has begun.”
Making a sensational debut in Paap, gorgeous babe Udita Goswami is still struggling to establish herself in Bollywood. Learning from her past mistakes, Udita regrets her absence and is set to start it all over again. Let’s see what this lady has to say about her upcoming releases and many more.
Q. You are working in Deepak Tijori’s The Man alongside Sunny Deol. Tell us something about it?A. I can’t reveal much about the film right now. All I can say is that it’s a thriller. I am working along with Sunny Deol, Arjun Rampal and Sagarika Ghatge. It’s a Sunny Deol style action-romantic movie. I’m playing the role of a detective in the movie which is quite interesting, so people will get to see me in a different look all together.
Q. How have you prepared yourself for this character?A. See first of all, I don’t know how the detectives work and function.
So I did whatever I was told by my director. According to Deepak, I fitted the best for this role and the kind of attitude required for this role suited me. He had full faith in me. So I didn’t need to transform much for the role.

SYNOPSIS Percept Picture Company's latest venture Ru-Ba-Ru is a romantic thriller which will see Randeep Hooda romancing newcomer Shahana Goswami. The Randeep Hooda and Shahana Goswami starrer Ru Ba Ru is yet again an 'inspired' film. Mind you, that does not necessarily mean it's bad. In fact, the concept and the idea behind the film are very good. But somehow, something went amiss. Exactly what goes wrong with the film, if you ask, is not anything in particular. But there are a handful of things that work against the otherwise 'not bad' film. For one, Randeep Hooda is hot, no doubt, but somehow he lacks a certain screen presence and does not suit the normal loving man image. He is much better as a gangster. Also, who said he got his first film, which happens to be Monsoon Wedding, for his Australian accent and not his acting capabilities? That person surely needs to know that in this film he did not even have the accent! Also, there were instances which were extremely 'filmy' in an otherwise practical film. Maybe that is where the movie goes awfully wrong. It's like you are watching this 'piece of life' story…well almost, but suddenly it throws up a situation which is so masala Bollywood that you are left completely confused. I could've given you examples, but then it would be like giving away the story…and that's the only thing that keeps the movie afloat. Apart from, of course, a brilliant performance by Shahana Goswami.
